Bible Study Resources
This page is to provide a Bible study plan for students. Students are encouraged to do more than read the Bible but to take time to study and learn what Scripture is teaching them. This is meant to be more than just a short morning devotion but something to help students saturate their entire day with God's Word.
One good method for studying the Bible is the S.O.A.P. method. Here is how it works:
S = Scripture
Write out the verse(s) in the passage that stand out to you.
O = Observation
What do you see in the verses you’re reading?
Who is the audience?
Is there a repetition of words?
What words stand out to you?
What is the main lesson or theme?
Are there any commands, warnings, or instructions?
What is the overall message of the passage?
A = Application
How does this verse apply to your life today?
How can you implement what you have read?
What habits, attitudes, or changes do you need to make?
What lessons can you take away from the reading?
P = Prayer
Pray God’s Word back to Him
If He has revealed something to you during this time in His
Word, pray about it.
Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.
Take time to thank Him for His goodness in your life.
